Fun.com is looking for a Public Relations Specialist to help grow our brands! We are a rapidly growing e-commerce company that encompasses the brands HalloweenCostumes.com, Shirts.com and Fun.com. We sell toys, collectibles, Halloween costumes, t-shirts, hoodies, and other crazy contraptions that attract consumers from all walks of life. We also have a unique company culture that embraces everything goofy because life is better when you’re just a little bit weird! Between the combination of our eclectic products and who we are, endless opportunities arise to exercise creativity! We are seeking an innovative and energetic Public Relations Specialist that is eager to build strong relationships and use their resourcefulness to get the word out to the masses about all things Fun.com.

As Fun.com’s Public Relations Specialist, you would be working closely with multiple departments to help create content across all media while building, maintaining and managing the reputation of Fun.com. One day you may get interviewed by a local news station and the next you may be working on securing an influencer to get the word out about a costume created by our company!

We are looking for someone that is interested in developing an in-depth knowledge of our nerdy, quirky organization and fun business environment to share it with the world! Have a cool idea on how to sell Unicorn Paperclip holders or a Star Trek pizza cutter? We want to hear what you got. If you are a skilled communicator, expert content creator and ready to represent an organization that requires nerf guns at every desk (okay they aren’t required), this may be the job for you!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Lead product placement strategy for marketing including but not limited to influencer outreach and coordination
• Act as company spokesperson across various media, including TV, radio and print/digital interviews
• Support in-season earned media initiatives through placement in print, TV and Radio
• Support SEO by applying best practices to earned media placements
• Create content and information strategy for in-season communications
• Support social media initiatives by helping create engagement strategies and content for multiple platforms
• Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
• Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an ongoing basis
• Build strong relationships with local and national press outlets

Requirements and Skill Sets
• Bachelor’s in Public Relations, Mass Media, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field or the equivalent experience previously working in Public Relations
• Great oral, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent written communication and editorial skills
• Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
• An ability to be flexible in a quickly changing environment while balancing multiple priorities
• An ability to establish and meet deadlines
• Fantastic eye for miniscule details
• Exceeds at building networks effectively and maintaining relationships, both online and off

Preferred Skills
• Real world PR experience
• Previous experience with developing unique brands
• The ability to jump from the creative side of PR to the analytical side
